Where is God?

Sometimes lately, like now, my brain feels almost fevered, as if my quarrelous thoughts simmer away to a quick boil. And, I just got up. 6am. Haven't even seen the headlines yet.

These times we're living thru, everyone jokes like it's funny-- crazy, right? But, how crazy?  How insane has our culture become, and who really cares?

Today, we see more men being publicly violent with no restraint, as others video the damage for TikTok hits; the masses always comply.

Today, abject cruelty is ranked, scored, reviewed, discussed to death, and classified to social archives for future reference.

Today, what a man and woman are can no longer be defined. Arbitrary identity towers over individual integrity. Fast and gratuitous wealth dominates over random charity; while power is the most sought after asset.

Today, gutter profanity flows everywhere like running water. Tiny children curse and their parents laugh, how cute-- hey, mom, dad, isn't that the future? Remorseless media celebrates personal destruction like a sport, cheering on our worse examples of crass and senseless conflict, constant argument about which petty new twist trends the fastest.

The realtime numbers are quietly shocking. Overdoses and suicides, all-time high. Scornful, gruesome tallies of a rapidly dying society engaging in a mathematical illusion of participatory success, and delusions of imagined progress.

Meanwhile, truth is slinking around every corner, stalked and fearful because this culture is not progressing, not thriving, and also not aware of its worsening condition.

America's intrinsic promise of revolutionary liberty is now held hostage by an increasing secularization of weakened core values, eroding the boundaries of decent conduct.

On the daily, we turn away from God's timeless wisdom, and to our own mounting peril-- humanity will not escape self-destruction from the vanquishing of mortal experience, lessons unlearned.

This million-year long story of civilization will most certainly end in a fireball of international hatred, and cultures crashing down into the abyss of wanton excess, material intoxication of opiated principles, and the most basic needs for survival.

If this hellbent path to oblivion isn't altered by healthier influences and direction, we are most likely doomed to the universe's dustbin of extinction.
